Our local town is Ware but we are only 5 miles from the county town of Hertford where you will find fascinating architecture, friendly specialist and antique shops, bustling Saturday Market, excellent Museum, the oldest Quaker Meeting House still in use, as well as Hertford Castle.


We are 45 minutes from Cambridge best known for its University Colleges as well as nearby attractions of Ely Cathedral and Oliver Cromwell's House and many more historical buildings.

Just 30-40 minutes by train you can enjoy all the sights of central London such as Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Madame Tussauds, take a ride on the London Eye, visit some of the many Museums and Galleries or enjoy a performance at a West End Theatre

20 minutes from the Henry Moore Foundation the grounds and studios of sculptor Henry Moore are open to the public by appointment during the annual visitor season from April to October each year. Visitors to The Henry Moore Foundation at Perry Green, Hertfordshire can see the monumental bronzes on display in the rural setting that Moore so loved, as well as exhibitions in the Sheep Field Barn gallery and sixteenth century timbered Aisled Barn.

We are also just 20 minutes from Knebworth House one of England's most beloved stately homes, famous for its rock concerts and as the home of Victorian novelist Edward Bulwer Lytton - author of the words "The pen is mightier than the sword"

Hatfield House just 20 minutes away is a fine Jacobean House and Garden in a spectacular countryside setting where Queen Elizabeth I spent most of here childhood. Visitors are welcomed from Easter Saturday to the end of September unless attending a winter event.

Paradise Wildlife Park is a fantastic, fun filled, destination for all the family just 25 minutes away with an amazing range of animals including tigers, lions, monkeys, zebras, camels and wolves and what makes us really unique is the fact that you can get up close and personal, meeting and feeding many of the animals. Indoor play area and themed adventure playgrounds.

40 minutes from Duxford Aviation Museum to see Concorde and the world's last flying Lancaster bomber, as well as having one of the finest collections of tanks, military vehicles and naval exhibits in the country.

Other attractions about an hour away are Woburn Safari Park www.woburnsafari.co.uk , Whipsnade Zoo www.zsl.org , Gullivers Land www.gulliversfun.co.uk and Althorp House (Princess Diana's family home and burial ground) www.althorp.com .  Suffolk is less than an hour away where you'll find Constable country (the artist) and Gainsborough's home www.constablecountry.co.uk . The Suffolk coastline is under 2 hours www.aldeburghholiday.co.uk
